Victorian Sterling Moveable Clasped Hands & Heart Fede Gimmal Ring

This beutiful antique ring from the Victorian era ca1880 is a wonderful example of a traditional fede gimmel ring! Crafted in sterling silver, the moveable two-hopp design depicts two clasped hands. The two hoops are hinged together with a small pin at the back, allowing them to pull apart, revealing the individual design of each band. The two-dimensional hands fig perfectly together, interloocking at the center. The cuffed sleeves worn at the wrist depict male and female hands, joining together in love or betrothal.
